Supporting schools in North West London
30 June 2010
Submitted by: Corinne Phillips | Corporate Partnerships Manager, Giving Nation
If your business is looking to support a worthwhile community activity involving local young people over the coming year, please read on. The Citizenship Foundation is now recruiting businesses to partner with their local secondary school in order to take on Giving Nation Challenge - a youth social action and enterprise programme.
The Giving Nation Challenge provides skills development opportunities for employee volunteers to act as business advisors and enable young people (ages 11 to 16) to take action on a local, global or national issue they feel passionate about. Supported by the Cabinet Office, this fun yet practical programme gives young people the opportunity to be active, responsible citizens and develop a range of business related skills.
Volunteer training sessions, on-site support, classroom materials and evaluations are provided by the Giving Nation team. The volunteer role is suited to all types of employee including those working in professional services, HR, marketing, sales, consultancy, finance and other support roles.
