The NW London Chamber meeting went well including welcoming new members onto the Board.
The Key Note speaker was local solicitor and previous Chamber Board member Ritu Sethi of the Sethi Partnership Solicitors . Ritu presented an enthralling history of her business career. She is a dynamic businesswoman who has built up a successful practice, overcoming many obstacles raised a family and won numerous awards.

Business Rate Relief

Good news! Laurie Bernard, the Chamber Marketing Director, is pleased to report that the small business rate relief scheme has been extended.
The small business rate relief scheme was due to end on 30 September 2011, but has now been extended for an additional year. The scheme provides eligible small business ratepayers with small business rate relief at 100 per cent on properties up to £6,000 rateable value in 2010, (rather than the previous rate of 50 per cent), and a tapering relief from 100 per cent to 0 per cent for properties up to £11999 in rateable value.

It is a fairly last minute request but I am writing from The One Show at the BBC. Next Tuesday our guests are Hollywood legend Martin Sheen and his son Emilio Estevez. Emilio has recently directed his father in a film. To tie in with this we are keen to try and find an example of a business where a SON employs his FATHER who we could come and interview on Monday.
